It's been a while...

We were looking over our blog tonight and realized how LONG it's been since we updated! Too long for sure. So here goes the attempt to update :)

Here are a few highlights of the last year of our life...

1. Deven's Graduation from Crandall University!!

After 4 years of working towards it, Deven was the very first student to walk across the platform, and receive his degree :) He completed a BA Hons in Biblical Studies, finishing off with a 4.0 GPA!! So Proud (Heather said this, not Deven!!)

2. We moved...

We are now living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and this is our new place! We really are loving city life, and are settling in well. We have been here now for almost 2 months, and feel right at home. Why did we move here?? Well, three reasons. First, Deven will be starting his M.A. at Acadia Divinity School in the fall, which is in Wolfville, NS, about 1 hr from where we are living. This brings us to reason number two. Although 1 hour seems like a loooong drive, we chose to settle in the city because of a church here, called PAXnorth. (check out their website at PAXnorth.ca) It is an inner city church plant, and we LOVE it. Over the last few years, God has really been moving our hearts in the direction of church planting. Deven stills wants to be a Pastor, but is drawn to this type of ministry. We are in the process of applying to church plant one day with the organization (ACTS 29) that this church in Halifax is a part of. Hence, we are getting involved here to learn and observe what that really looks like, and to be trained for the future. VERY EXCITING!!

The final reason we are living here brings us to our next set of pictures. I, Heather, have also gone back to school!! I am studying Hair Dressing at the Hair Design Center, something I have wanted to do for sooooo long!! I began classes May 17th, and will graduate January 22nd!! As you can see, I am thoroughly loving it!

AND, one final wonderful note...

My sister and her hubbie had a beautiful new baby boy, Callum!! He is so precious, and we are just THRILLED to be Auntie and Uncle to this lovely wee boy. Here are a couple pics, but feel free to check out richjennagnew.blogspot.com to see more if you're interested!!!
